MACAN Webinar #4: Perspectives from Natural Resource Management
will host its fourth webinar, "Perspectives from Natural Resource Management," on March 21 at 1 p.m.
Summary: Natural resource managers in the Mid-Atlantic have many questions about the
impacts and management options of ocean, coastal, and estuarine acidification.
Natural resource managers need viable strategies to understand, anticipate, and
respond to future changes brought on by acidification. Other regions of the
United States have been struggling with this question for some time, and there
is an important opportunity to learn from these regions. Natural resource
management perspectives will be the focus of the fourth and final webinar in
this series. The webinar will consist of 2 presentations followed by 15 minutes
of Q&A. The first presentation by Bob Schuster, New Jersey Department of
Environmental Protection, will focus on questions and concerns for managing
acidification in the Mid-Atlantic region. The second presentation by Jenn
Phillips, California Natural Resources Agency, will focus on how practitioners
on the West Coast have been grappling with possible mitigation and adaptation
mechanisms.
