Join us for a tour of the Portal’s deep library of fishing data in a special edition of our How Tuesday webinar series on Nov. 25 at 11 a.m.

The Portal’s collection of nearly 2,000 maps showing commercial fishing activities and management areas has been reorganized with guidance and input from members of the region’s fishing industry. The goal of the reorganization was to make finding the maps you’re looking for much easier, taking advantage of recent technical upgrades that enable nested map menus. Among the most prominent changes, the Portal’s maps are now organized by fishery rather than data type.

In this session, Monmouth University Urban Coast Institute Fisheries and Ocean Conservation Fellow Jay Odell and Communications Director Karl Vilacoba, both of the MARCO Portal technical team, will summarize the changes and provide an overview of the various types of fishing map products on the Portal. Come with your questions, observations and suggestions for how to make the new theme and the Portal’s fishing data better support your needs!
